Gold for IPPT!!!

The month of June is coming to an end. It marks the 1/2 year ended for
2009.

I’m proud of myself because i’m seriously getting closer to my fitness goal for the year.

I ‘ve just attained (IPPT) Individual physical proficiency test – GOLD this tuesday!!!

Another $200 going into my bank for the next pay day!!!
2 more off days for me too!!!

It’s really an achievement for me. WHY ???
Because i know i’ve trained hard for the past 1 year in army and i’ve overcome all my physical weakness in NS.
One year ago, i used to fail my IPPT and SOC test. My stamina is very weak and my endurance is terribly poor.

BUT now, i’m getting stronger, better and faster!!!
My 2.4 timing is 9 mins 16 secs – as compared to the very last time i took in March is 9 mins 48 secs. Which means my timing improved by 1/2  minute :)

Finally, my hard work paid off… I have been very consistent with gym training and cardio exercises.
3 times of Gym session per week  and minimum 3 times of running/swimming/HIIT and speed training for my cardio.

For the past 6 weeks, i had a mixture of long distance running (5-6 km) and HIIT speed training at least 2 – 3 times a week. My weight dropped from 76.4 to 73.5 kg due to the the constant cardio training i planned for myself.

On the 7th week of my fitness schedule, which is also 1 week before my IPPT test, i concentrate alot on stamina and endurance training which consists of HIIT, statics training, long distance running (7-8 km) and swimming.
I stopped hitting the gym and had fitness band workouts instead.

Running is no longer a hassle for me :) It’s a passion now. I just ran 8 km this wednesday and clocked 37 or 38 mins. So in total, i ran about 15 km for the whole of this week in camp. I’m going for my 9 km run next week. My unit is preparing us for the army half marathon in July / Aug. Therefore every wednesday is long distance running. Haha hope i can cut my weight to IDEAL 70 kg after my Army half marathon in July/August.
