Fitness Evaluation

Evaluation for the month of April.

I have been keeping a CLOSE watch on my DIET and my fitness regime starting from this year.

GOOD NEWS:
Lost another 3 Kgs after 8 weeks of combined cardio/gym/abs training. Current weight now is 75 Kgs.
Glad to say that I’m getting closer and closer to my fitness goal for yr 2009!!!

Throughout the past 8 weeks, i have been consistent with gym workout at least 3 times a week.

Besides that i have also been doing alot of statics which includes push ups & abs exercises. Physical training in army is all about endurance & statics… Quite boring at times, but it helps in building up stamina and getting more lean in fact… 2 times a week – > Usually it will start with a 3 or 4 km run follow by 2 or 3 cycles of 6 sets of exercises which comprises of crunches, flutter kicks, sit ups spider/normal/diamond push ups … etc

Bunk workout – UPPER bods using the fitness band & chin up bars + push ups has also become part of my training regime.
This regime will consists of 5 sets.
Every sets will begin with doing chin ups of 5 to 7 reps , thereafter follow by doing wkouts using the fitness band which consists of lateral side raise, lateral rear raise, front raise, military press + squads and biceps curls. After that i will rest for 30 secs before doing 30 push ups – Normal Diamond & spider. Its definitely very effective as i can really feel the BURN after finishing all 5 sets.

As for my gym regime, i have plan in such a way that i will be able to hit at least 3 times a week despite my army and busy part time study schedule.

I will hit the gym 2 times during weekend day if that particular week in camp does not have busy training. However if there is practical training till late for that week, i will only go on wednesday evening during nights off.
Sat and Sun will be my gym wk out days too. I will also go for a swim during one of the weekend after my gym training…

As for my diet, i will be taking 100% Whey Gold standard protein starting from May. I have ordered on Wednesday night and it will be here tomo evening :)

Will update my progress again at the end of May :) HOpe everything goes well!!!

Body for LIFE , Cheers :)

  • Congratulations on sticking to your regime. It takes an incredible amount of discipline to do that. The main thing is that its a distance run not a sprint. So you want to take it slow and steady and it certainly seems like you’ve gotten a pace that you can stick with and thats what most important. Keep up the good work and good luck with maintaining it!

    • Hey Divito9,
Nice to meet u here… Thanks for your comment and the encouragement :)
Yea.. i have been pretty committed in reaching my fitness goal and consistency is the key word to body building :)
Maybe you would like to share with e ur fitness regime too ???

Any advise on cardio training ? Is HIIT and speed training like sprinting really useful ????

I have been doing Running and Swimming for my cardio..

  • I find that HIIT is good if you’re already in decent shape. But you have to treat it like a weight training day. Personally I do a medium intensity steady state cardio that lasts about 40 minutes. But I’ve been tossing around the idea of adding abit of HIIT to my own plan. One of the good things about it is that you can do it with any activity that raises your heart rate.
